HOW TO: SIMPLE WINGED EYELINER
Hello my beauty addicts!
I know there are a ton of eyeliner pictorials/tutorials out there, but I wanted to show you all my take on the beloved, winged eyeliner look! This tutorial shows and explains how I do my winged eyeliner on a daily basis, and it’s super simple and perfect for my makeup beginners!
The eyeliner of choice for this tutorial was the fabulous gel eyeliner from Cate McNabb Cosmetics! I really like this gel eyeliner because the formula is remarkable—-it’s water-proof, smudge-proof, and long lasting! In addition, the product comes in a unique, travel-friendly packaging with an inbuilt brush that’s perfect for touch-ups and ideal for those that are constantly on-the-go!
I wanted to create very precise lines for this tutorial, so I used an angled liner brush instead of the brush that came with the gel eyeliner.
There are many different ways to draw a winged eyeliner; it all depends on each person’s preferences. For me, since I have deep set eyelids, which means I have very minimal lid space, I prefer to draw my eyeliner thin to showcase as much eyelid space as possible to create an illusion of bigger eyes. The more lid space you show, the bigger your eyes will appear—-the less lid space you show, the smaller your eyes will appear.
For the purpose of this tutorial, I created my eyeliner a little thicker than I would normally do it, but the technique is the same. Here is my step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a simple winged eyeliner!
Step 1: Create a thick (or thin) line along the lash line, beginning from the inner corner of the eye.
Step 2: Draw a thin, upward line from the outer corner of the eye.
Step 3: Draw a slightly curved, thin line from the tail and connect it to the lash line.
Step 4: Fill in the empty space with the eyeliner, apply mascara or false eyelashes, and voila!
